Shipping Policies

We understand how frustrating it can be to find a great online deal only to see the savings evaporate in the form of unreasonable shipping charges. At Emerald City Fabrics we want you to spend your hard-earned money on great products, not on shipping charges. This means no surprises during checkout, just some of the lowest shipping rates in the industry. We guarantee it.

Many of our competitors base shipping rates on item price rather than weight, unfairly collecting extra profit on lightweight items such as sewing patterns. Our shipping rates are based on the actual item weight. This means a bit more work and expense for us, but it translates into the lowest possible shipping rates for you.

We ship worldwide including APO/FPO for our customers serving in the armed forces. We understand that once you have paid for an item it is yours, and it is our highest obligation to get it into your hands as soon as possible. Your order will be packaged carefully and quality checked for accuracy before leaving our warehouse. All fabrics are sealed in plastic bags to protect from damage, soil and moisture in transit.

United States Shipping Rates

United States customers never pay more than $10.70 to ship their entire order — it's that simple. This includes APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam. If you'd like to start small, one yard of quilt/fashion weight fabric ships for just $2.75. Flannel, corduroy, and upholstery weight fabric ship for slightly more. And because everyone loves free shipping, orders totaling $100 or more ship for free. Actual shipping charges will be updated and displayed as you add items to your cart so you can be completely comfortable before checkout. Free shipping is applied to orders totaling $100 or more during checkout.

Your order will be shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) or Federal Express (FedEx). Our standard shipping services are USPS First Class Mail, USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Home Delivery depending on order size.

International Shipping Rates

Up to 8 yards (7.3 meters) of quilt/fashion weight fabric or 5 yards (4.5 meters) of upholstery fabric ship anywhere in the world for just $14.95USD ($12.95USD Mexico and Canada). Up to 25 yards (22.9 meters) of quilt/fashion weight fabric or 12 yards (11 meters) of upholstery fabric ship for just $43.95USD ($26.95USD Mexico and Canada). Actual shipping charges are available for review during checkout and before submitting final payment.

Our standard international shipping services are USPS First Class Mail International and USPS Priority Mail International depending on order size.

International Import Duties and Taxes

Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are your responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to placing your order. These charges are normally collected by the shipping company or at the time you pick up your package. Please do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. In accordance with US and International government regulations we cannot mark packages as gifts or with a lower value than the actual retail price.

Sales Tax

Washington State residents pay sales tax on the total purchase price including shipping and handling charges.

Return Policy

Your complete satisfaction is our top priority, and we want you to feel absolutely comfortable with your purchase decision. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will refund your purchase price excluding shipping upon return receipt of the complete item in good order. Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot accept returns on books or patterns. Returned items must be received within 30 days. Please contact us for return authorization before shipping items.

Fabric Flammability

Please note that cotton fabrics typically do not meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. Please contact us us for further information prior to purchasing fabric for this purpose.

Computer Monitors & Color Matching

We photograph our products under full-spectrum lights (similar to natural sunlight) and correct for color using professional digital equipment. Even so, computer monitors cannot render colors accurately, and the coloration and brightness of our fabrics will vary depending on your monitor settings. For this reason we do not recommend that you attempt precise color matching of fabrics on your computer screen.
